Many wedding alcohol calculators in Poland are run by shops and wholesalers. We don't sell alcohol: the calculator below counts what your guests are likely to drink with a rule we show in full, and gives the cost straight away. It's for weddings where the venue lets you bring your own alcohol. For the rule of thumb and a table for vodka, wine and beer alone, see How much alcohol for a Polish wedding.

If you're new to Polish weddings: they last until 3 or 4 a.m., with bottles of vodka on every table. A few customs need their own bottles. Bramy are "gates": friends and neighbours stop the couple's car on the way to the church or the venue and let it through for vodka and sweets. Oczepiny are the games around midnight. Poprawiny are a second, shorter party the day after.

The calculator: enter your guests

Enter the number of adult guests and the hours of the party, then change the bottle prices to your shop's. The list updates as you type:

  • Sparkling wine for the toast is counted per adult guest, a glass each. If you're also serving prosecco as a welcome drink, buy twice as much.
  • Bramy and oczepiny: 10 bottles is the middle of the range Polish wedding shops suggest (8–12). Enter your own number if you know how many gates to expect on the way.
  • Poprawiny: when you tick it, the calculator fills in half your adult guests and 6 hours. Change them to your own numbers.

How the calculator counts

The calculator multiplies your adult guests by the hours of the party and by a fixed amount per hour: 50 ml of vodka, 25 ml of wine and 60 ml of beer. It rounds each drink up to whole bottles.

WhatPer adult guestOver 10 hoursBottle

It doesn't count children and teens: they don't drink alcohol, and the venue serves them soft drinks. The default prices are Polish shop prices from autumn 2026: 35 zł for 0.5 l of vodka, 30 zł for wine, 4.50 zł for beer and 25 zł for sparkling wine.

The Złote Wesele app and the guide How much alcohol for a Polish wedding use the same rule for vodka, wine and beer, so the numbers match across the site.

Shopping list for 50–200 guests

This is what to buy for an average ten-hour wedding with a toast and no poprawiny. The cost includes 10 bottles of vodka for the bramy and oczepiny.

How much vodka for 100 guests, according to Polish guides

Polish wedding guides differ almost twofold: for 100 guests they suggest between 45 and 100 bottles of vodka (0.5 l). This is what they said in October 2026 (all in Polish):

SourceVodka 0.5 l for 100 guestsSparkling wine for the toast
This calculator100 bottles for 100 adults, 75 on "less"15 bottles, 1 per 7 adults
Wedding.plabout 100 bottles (50 l) for 100 adult guests who drink14–20 bottles
wodkanawesela.pl (a shop)100 bottles without poprawiny, 0.7 l per person with them1 bottle per 7–8 guests
Planer Ślubny Allemedia47–80 bottles (about 90 adults, 70–80 of whom drink)1 bottle per 5–6 guests
Event Atlas45–55 bottles (about 80 guests who drink)12–15 bottles

The lower figures assume some guests drink wine or cocktails, or nothing at all; the higher ones, that vodka stays on the tables all night. Our rule is near the top, because what runs out at midnight can't be bought then, and many Polish shops take back unopened bottles. If yours doesn't, choose "less".

The toast, the bramy and the poprawiny

The simple "half a litre per person" rule leaves these three out, and for 100 adult guests they add up to about 2,240 zł: 375 zł of sparkling wine, 350 zł of vodka for the bramy and about 1,510 zł for the poprawiny.

How much sparkling wine for the toast

A 0.75 l bottle of sparkling wine pours a toast for 7 adult guests, so 15 bottles for 100. Other guides suggest 12–20 bottles for 100 guests. If prosecco is also the welcome drink or flows all evening, buy twice as much. Alcohol-free sparkling wine is handy for the children's toast.

How much vodka for the bramy and oczepiny

Polish wedding shops suggest adding 8–12 bottles of vodka for the bramy and the oczepiny. How many gates you'll meet depends on the region and the route, so enter your own number in the calculator.

How much alcohol for the poprawiny

The calculator counts the poprawiny like the wedding, for their own guests and hours. With half the adult guests for 6 hours that's about 30% more: for 100 adults, 30 bottles of vodka, 10 of wine and 36 of beer, about 1,510 zł. The shop wodkanawesela.pl gives a similar rule, adding 20–30% for the poprawiny. Wedding.pl suggests mostly beer for the second day, 2–3 bottles per person.

What wedding alcohol costs in Poland in 2027

At Polish shop prices from autumn 2026, the full list for 100 adult guests costs about 5,785 zł, or 58 zł per guest: 3,500 zł of vodka for the tables, 350 zł of vodka for the bramy, 1,020 zł of wine, 540 zł of beer and 375 zł of sparkling wine.

For a wedding in 2027, add the excise rise. A bill the Polish government adopted on 22 September 2026 raises the excise duty on spirits from 1 January 2027, from 8,811 to 10,109 zł per hectolitre of pure alcohol, about 15%. The rates on wine and beer rise by the same share. On a 0.5 l bottle of vodka that's 2.60 zł more duty, about 3.20 zł with VAT; on a bottle of wine about 0.33 zł, on a bottle of beer about 0.13 zł. If shops passed on just the duty, the list for 100 guests would cost about 380 zł more, almost all of it on the vodka.

As of 22 October 2026, the Sejm's public finance committee had passed the bill and the Sejm was yet to vote on it. The president vetoed the previous excise rise on alcohol, so check whether the new rates are in force before you buy.

Your own alcohol or the venue's package

The calculator's list matters when the venue lets you bring your own alcohol. Add the venue's korkowe (corkage), usually 15–60 zł per guest, to the 58 zł per guest above, for 73–118 zł. A venue's alcohol package often costs over 100 zł per adult, and some venues add a service charge on top. Which way is cheaper, you can work out in Corkage at a Polish wedding, with a break-even calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How does the wedding alcohol calculator work?

It multiplies your adult guests by the hours of the party and by an amount per hour: 50 ml of vodka, 25 ml of wine and 60 ml of beer. It adds a glass of sparkling wine for the toast, vodka for the bramy and oczepiny, and the poprawiny if you tick them. It rounds up to whole bottles and multiplies by prices you can change.

How much alcohol for a wedding of 80 people?

For 80 adult guests and 10 hours of party: 80 bottles of vodka (0.5 l), 27 bottles of wine, 96 bottles of beer and 12 bottles of sparkling wine for the toast, plus about 10 bottles of vodka for the bramy. At Polish shop prices that's about 4,690 zł, or 59 zł per guest.

How much sparkling wine for a toast for 100 guests?

About 15 bottles of 0.75 l, one bottle per 7 adult guests. Other guides suggest 12–20 bottles. If prosecco is also the welcome drink, buy twice as much.

How much alcohol for the poprawiny?

Count them like the wedding, for the guests and hours of the poprawiny. With half the guests for 6 hours that's about 30% of the wedding's: for 100 adults, 30 bottles of vodka, 10 bottles of wine and 36 bottles of beer.

How much vodka for the bramy?

Polish wedding shops suggest 8–12 bottles of vodka for the bramy and oczepiny. Where there are many gates along the way, you'll need more. The calculator starts at 10 bottles.

Will wedding alcohol cost more in Poland in 2027?

If the government's bill becomes law, yes: from 1 January 2027 the excise duty on alcohol rises by about 15%, which adds about 3.20 zł with VAT to a 0.5 l bottle of vodka. On 22 October 2026 the bill was still in the Sejm.

Does the calculator count children and drivers?

It doesn't count children: enter adult guests only. Drivers and guests who don't drink are part of the average rule. If there are a dozen or more, choose "less" or leave them out of the adults.

How many soft drinks for a wedding?

Soft drinks are usually included in the venue's price per plate, though some venues set a limit. If you buy them yourselves, plan 2.5–3 l per guest, children included.
